Club Purpose
The purpose of the New Mobilians Club is to welcome new residents, to engage in charitable endeavors, and to promote the social and educational lives of club members.
New Mobilians opens the way for new residents to meet each other, become a part of a group, and find their place quickly in the community that is now called "home."
The club has many interest groups in which all members are invited to participate. There are also a number of events scheduled throughout the year which involve spouses and guests. The main social event of the club is the annual Mardi Gras Ball which began in 1984.
The club has maintained its growth through the years and is now comprised of 200-plus members. Each year different charities are the recipients of club donations. Indeed, New Mobilians is recognized as an important part of the Mobile Community.
New Mobilians Monthly Luncheons
Our monthly luncheons are held the first Wednesday of the month. Our
reservation deadline is usually the Sunday (by 5 PM) before the luncheon
meetings. Our luncheon meeting place and cost, will be in the members
newsletter. Please remember when you make a reservation you are
obligated to pay whether you are able to attend or not!
(It helps when you attend a luncheon to have exact change.)

The Queen She Reigns
Have you ever wished upon a star,
Not knowing exactly who or where you are?
To us she’s an elegant lady filled with energy and life,
Cared for a dear friend and won the battle over her strife.
Her dreams of being a Queen for quite a while,
She perfected the hand wave to go with her radiant smile.
A New Mobilian from the Deep South for many years,
Straight from New Orleans – the Saints, and Drew Brees.
She walks among us always straight and tall,
Truly an elegant beauty as Queen of the year’s Ball.
Head held high with the jewels of the night she was in her glory,
Needless to say-she will never forget this story.
She shall reign in splendor throughout this year,
And members will applaud her, bow and cheer.
La Dolce Vita, theme of the Ball, is one she’ll always recall,
She’s earned her title – Betty Ruth Patek, Queen of the Ball.
Reign on Reign on with splendor and might,
Reign on Reign on with your crown day and night,
Reign on Reign on our dear Mobilian friend,
Reign on as Queen – 2011, embrace it – never let it end!

The New Mobilians is in session from September until May. Many Interest Groups carry on through the summer months.
